Notifications on resolution cases and use of DGS funds
The EBA acts as a central hub for information on crisis prevention, management and resolution of credit institutions in the Union based on the notifications received from the respective national authorities regarding (i) resolution actions taken in relation to an institution, (ii) any determination of unavailability of deposits and DGSs' pay-outs, (iii) any use of DGSs' funds to finance measures in order to prevent the failure of an institution, and (iv) any use of DGSs' funds to finance measures to preserve access of depositors to their covered deposits in insolvency.
The EBA publishes the notifications received from both resolution and DGS designated authorities on its website in order to ensure information is easily accessible by the public.
The European Banking Authority is responsible only for the accurate reproduction of the information received from national authorities, while responsibility for the accuracy of its content, lies with those national authorities.

The European Banking Authority (EBA) has received a notification from the Baca d'Italia (Bank of Italy) regarding the updated resolution strategy for four banks (the Banca delle Marche, Banca Popolare dell'Etruria e del Lazio, Cassa di Risparmio di Ferrara and Cassa di Risparmio della Provincia di Chieti) which have been put under resolution on 25 November 2015.

The EBA has received a notification from Indeliu ir investiciju draudimas (the Deposit and Investment insurance) in Lithuania in relation to the determination of the unavailability of deposits at Baltija credit union which required the use of DGS funds to reimburse 967depositors. The guaranteed deposits amounted to EUR 8.61 million.
The EBA received a notification about the use of DGS funds to reimburse additional 58 depositors whose guaranteed deposits amounted to EUR 2.9 million. In total, the credit union therefore possessed 1025 depositors with guaranteed deposits amounting to EUR 11.51 million.

The EBA has received a notification from the Indeliu ir investiciju draudimas (the Deposit and Investment insurance) in Lithuania in relation to the determination of the unavailability of deposits at Namu credit union which required the use of DGS funds to reimburse 319 depositors. The guaranteed deposits amounted to EUR 1.09 million.
The EBA received a notification about the use of DGS funds to reimburse additional 10 depositors whose guaranteed deposits amounted to EUR 0.29 million. In total, the credit union therefore possessed 329 depositors with guaranteed deposits amounting to EUR 1.38 million.

The EBA has received a notification from the Bankowy Fundusz Gwarancyjny (the Bank Guarantee Fund in Poland) in relation to the determination of the unavailability of deposits at Twoja Spóldzielcza Kasa Oszczednosciowo-Kredytowa (Twoja Credit Union).
On May 12, 2017 the Polish Financial Supervision Authority suspended operations and filed for bankruptcy of Twoja Spóldzielcza Kasa Oszczednosciowo-Kredytowa (Twoja Credit Union).
The credit union possessed 14 019 depositors with guaranteed deposits amounted to EUR 39.3 million. The date of determination of the unavailability of deposits was May 12, 2017.
The direct reason for the determination of unavailability of deposits was the fact that assets of the credit union were not sufficient to meet its obligations. From May 22 to July 21, 2017 the bank agent (BZ WBK S.A.) reimburses deposits to the depositors.
The Bank Guarantee Fund continues the reimbursement process to the date of May 11, 2022.

The EBA has received a notification from the Bankowy Fundusz Gwarancyjny (the Bank Guarantee Fund in Poland) in relation to determination of the unavailability of deposits at Wielkopolska Spóldzielcza Kasa Oszczednosciowo-Kredytowa (Wielkopolska Credit Union).
On February 3, 2017 the Polish Financial Supervision Authority suspended operations and filed for bankruptcy of Wielkopolska Spóldzielcza Kasa Oszczednosciowo-Kredytowa (Wielkopolska Credit Union). The credit union possessed 39 575 depositors with guaranteed deposits amounted to EUR 66.1 million (PLN 284.2 million).
The direct reason for the determination of unavailability of deposits was the fact that assets of the credit union were not sufficient to meet its obligations. The deposits reimbursement started on February 13, 2017 (6th working day). From February 13 to April 14, 2017 the bank agent (PKO Bank Polski S.A.) reimburses deposits to the depositors.
The Bank Guarantee Fund will continue the reimbursement process to the date of February 2, 2022.

The EBA has received a notification from the Bankowy Fundusz Gwarancyjny (the Bank Guarantee Fund in Poland) in relation to determination of the unavailability of deposits at Bank Spóldzielczy w Nadarzynie (Cooperative Bank in Nadarzyn).
On October 24, 2016 the Polish Financial Supervision Authority suspended operations and filed for bankruptcy of Bank Spóldzielczy w Nadarzynie (Cooperative Bank in Nadarzyn) – the date of determination of the unavailability of deposits. The bank possessed 5595 depositors with guaranteed deposits amounted to EUR 33.7 million (PLN 145.6 million).
The direct reason for the determination of unavailability of deposits was lack of current liquidity. The deposits reimbursement started on November 2, 2016 (6th working day). From November 2 to December 30, 2016 the bank agent (BZ WBK S.A.) reimbursed deposits to the depositors.
The Bank Guarantee Fund continues the reimbursement process to the date of October 23, 2021.

The EBA has received a notification from the Lithuanian Deposit and Investment Insurance Scheme in relation to the determination of the unavailability of deposits at Credit Union Amber that required the use of DGS funds. The bank had 995 covered depositors with covered deposits of EUR 20.1 million. .

The EBA has received a notification from the State Agency for Deposit Insurance and Bank Resolution in Croatia in relation to the determination of the unavailability of deposits at Banka splitsko - dalmatinska d.d. which required the use of DGS funds to reimburse 8212 depositors. The guaranteed deposits amounted to EUR 50.87 million.

The EBA has received a notification from Hellenic Deposit and Investment Guarantee Fund in relation to the national insolvency proceeding of Olympus Cooperative Bank which required the use of EUR 49.8 million from the Fund in order to support the transfer of all the deposits of the mentioned bank to the National Bank of Greece S.A.
