Reporting allocation of overdrafts from financial customers in template C74.00
- Question
-
Where shall overdrafts from financial customers be allocated in LCR C74.00 template?
- Background on the question
-
In the final answer of EBA Q&A 2017_3475 it is said that monies due from financial customers, [… shall be reported under row 160 of reporting template C74.00] without specifying which types of monies shall be reported in that row.
Additionally, in the final answer of EBA Q&A 2014_1576 one of the rationale given to apply 100% rate to Nostro accounts is to have symmetry with the outflows applied to current accounts and deposits from financial customer to which a 100% outflow is applied.
Question arises about whether overdrafts in the balance sheet from financial customers shall be reported in r160 Inflows from financial customers (100% weight) or as Loans with undefined due date if these overdrafts are to be paid at notice.

- Rationale for rejection

This question has been rejected because it is considered that EBA guidance or clarification is not needed with regard to the issue that it raises. For example, this can be the case where it is considered that the existing regulatory framework is sufficiently clear and unambiguous, or where different practices may be possible but it is not currently necessary to harmonise these further through the Q&A process.
The Single Rule Book Q&A tool has been established to provide explanations and non-binding interpretations on questions relating to the practical application or implementation of the provisions of legislative acts referred to in Article 1(2) of the EBA’s founding Regulation, as well as associated delegated and implementing acts, and guidelines and recommendations, adopted under these legislative acts.
For further information on the purpose of this tool and on how to submit questions, please see “Additional background and guidance for asking questions”.
