The EBA launches consultation on key performance indicators of Taxonomy disclosures
The European Banking Authority (EBA) today published a Discussion Paper on certain key performance indicators (KPIs) and other aspects of the Disclosures Delegated Act, under Article 8 of the Taxonomy Regulation. The aim is to consult the public on potential measures to simplify and enhance the usability of information disclosed by credit institutions and investment firms. The consultation is open until 12 August 2026.

EBA launches consultation on amendments to Guidelines on the systemic risk buffer
The European Banking Authority (EBA) today launched a public consultation on draft amendments to its Guidelines on the appropriate subsets of sectoral exposures to which competent or designated authorities may apply a systemic risk buffer (EBA/GL/2020/13). The revised Guidelines aim to facilitate a more effective use of the systemic risk buffer to address systemic risks stemming from climate change.

The European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, EIOPA and ESMA - the ESAs) today launched a public consultation on their draft Joint Guidelines on ESG stress testing, as mandated by the Capital Requirements Directive and the Solvency II Directive. The draft Guidelines set out how competent authorities for the banking and insurance sectors should integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks when performing supervisory stress tests. They aim to harmonise methodologies and practices among supervisors in banking and insurance, to ensure proportionality and to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of ESG stress testing. The consultation runs until 19 September 2025.
