Critical Functions - Z.07.03
- Question
-
Could you please clarify, with regard to completing template Z 07.03 (FUNC 3), whether core business lines not included in the predefined list should be reported under “Other” with an appropriate description or mapped to the closest predefined category?
- Background on the question
-
According to the Annex II Instructions for template Z 07.03 – Mapping of Core Business Lines to Legal Entities (FUNC 3), institutions are required to report their core business lines by selecting from a predefined list of categories, namely: Consumer Banking, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Insurance, Reinsurance, Retail Brokerage, Wealth Management, Real Estate Agency, Accounting, and Other.
However, in our case, the Bank's internal structure includes additional core business lines that are material but these do not appear in the predefined list.

Core business lines not included in the predefined list should be mapped to the closest predefined category. The use of the ‘Other’ category should be residual, and limited only to cases where no category could embed the business line.
For reporting purposes, institutions should apply the mapping in a consistent manner and, where relevant, use c0020 (“Business Line ID”) to identify the core business line as defined in their recovery plan. This approach may facilitate the understanding of the mapping between institution-specific business lines and the predefined categories in the template, while supporting consistency between recovery and resolution planning information.
