EBA holds a public hearing on Covered Bonds

On 18 November 2016, from 13.00 to 16.00 UK time, the European Banking Authority (EBA) will be holding a public hearing to outline its draft proposals on the European covered bond framework. The hearing comes as a follow-up to the recommendation by the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) and ahead of the expected publication of the final report by end of 2016.

 

The ESRB recommendation on the funding of credit institutions requested the EBA to deliver a report on the functioning of the frameworks for covered bonds according to the EBA's best practice principles from 2014, as well as to provide its  views on recommended further actions. 

 

A presentation with the outline of the draft proposals on recommended further actions will be uploaded on the EBA website one week ahead of the public hearing.
