Workshop for banks: improving reporting practices and data quality

The European Banking Authority (EBA) has enhanced its data infrastructure with the deployment of the European Centralised Infrastructure for Supervisory Data (EUCLID), a reliable, secure and efficient platform for collecting banking and financial data for all credit institutions in Europe. The inclusion in the scope of Euclid of data for smaller institutions does not increase the reporting burden for these entities but it allows the EBA to collect supervisory information already collected at Member State. With Euclid the EBA is now able to introduce more proportionality in EBA’s work, resulting in more comprehensive analyses, better impact assessments and less need of ad-hoc data collections.

In this context, on 29 June 2021, from 09:15 to 16:30 CEST, the EBA will be organising its first workshop to promote better reporting practices and data quality from reporting banks when submitting data based on the EBA’s Implementing Technical standards on supervisory reporting. This event will bring together experts from supervisory authorities and the financial industry and it will be an opportunity for reporting institutions to communicate directly with the EBA, particularly for representatives of smaller institutions whose data has not regularly contributed to EBA products, reports and analyses in the past.

The target audience includes primarily reporting experts of credit institutions or banking associations/federations, but also experts from national authorities who are usually in contact with reporting institutions concerning data, which is submitted to the EBA.
