12th Joint ESA’s Consumer Protection Day

On 5 November 2025 the three European Supervisory Authorities: the European Banking Authority (EBA), the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) will hold their 12th Consumer Protection Day. The theme of the event is "Building a framework for more efficient, simpler and safe financial services for consumers"

The Joint ESAs Consumer Protection Day aims at bringing together thought leaders of consumer/investor organisations, competent authorities, European Union (EU) institutions as well as academics and key market participants, from all over the Union, to discuss issues of EU-wide relevance in the field of consumer protection in financial services. 

This year’s programme will include Keynote Speakers from the European Commission and European Parliament and will address the following panel discussions:
•    Panel 1:  Simplification of the customer journey: How can regulation better support good consumer outcomes?
•    Panel 2:  Staying ahead of fraud and scams in the digital era
•    Panel 3:  Crypto Investments, MiCA and consumer protection

Event format & attendance: In-person only, no streaming will be available. Attendance is free of charge.

Registration confirmation: Official registration confirmation will be sent by the organisers in due course after ensuring that fair distribution is provided to the all stakeholders categories, including the public and consumer representatives. Therefore, kindly please wait with booking your travel and accommodation until official registration confirmation is provided from our side.

Costs/reimbursements: Subject to conditions, consumer representatives who are members of an officially recognised body in their respective EU Member State are eligible for reimbursement.
