The EBA publishes final draft technical standards under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation
The European Banking Authority (EBA) today published three sets of final draft regulatory technical standards (RTS) and one set of final draft implementing technical standards (ITS) relating to the authorisation as issuer of asset-referenced tokens (ARTs), to the information for the assessment of acquisition of qualifying holdings in issuers of ARTs and to the procedure for the approval of white papers for ARTs issued by credit institutions under the Markets in Crypto-assets Regulation (MiCAR). These technical standards are key to regulate access to the EU market by applicant issuers of ARTs and persons intending to exercise significant influence on these undertakings via the acquisition of qualifying holdings.
The EBA releases a first draft of the technical package for its 4.0 reporting framework
The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today a draft technical package for version 4.0 of its reporting framework. This publication aims to provide an early version of the 4.0 release given that its reporting obligations will apply as of the first half of 2025. This package, whose final version will be released in December 2024, will facilitate a smoother transition to the new data point model (DPM) semantic glossary and the capabilities of the DPM 2.0 model.

The EBA consults on draft technical standards on the prudential treatment of crypto assets exposures under the Capital Requirements Regulation
The European Banking Authority (EBA) today published a Consultation Paper on its draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) to specify the technical elements necessary for institutions to calculate and aggregate crypto-asset exposures in relation to the prudential treatment of such exposures. These RTS will address implementation aspects and ensure harmonisation of the capital requirements on crypto-assets exposures by institutions across the EU.
The EBA consults on draft technical standards on governance arrangements of the remuneration policy under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation
The European Banking Authority (EBA) launched today a public consultation on its draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) on the minimum content of the governance arrangements on the remuneration policy under the Market in crypto-assets Regulation (MiCAR). These draft RTS specify the main governance processes regarding the adoption, implementation and maintenance of the remuneration policy and the main policy elements that should be included in the remuneration policy. The consultation runs until 22 January 2024.

The EBA sets 2025 priorities for resolution authorities and reports on the progress achieved in 2023
The European Banking Authority (EBA) today published its European Resolution Examination Programme (EREP) Report. It sets three priorities for resolution authorities and banks for 2025: operationalisation of their resolution tools, liquidity strategies in resolution, and management information system for valuation. The Report also looks at the progress achieved in 2023 and identifies areas of improvement.
