EBA publishes work programme for 2018

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today its detailed annual work programme for 2018, describing the specific activities and tasks of the Authority for the coming year, as well as a multiannual work programme, highlighting the key strategic areas of work from 2018 to 2021.
 
In 2018, the EBA will focus on (i) the CRR/CRD and BRRD developments, and review the consequences of the BCBS's revision of the trading book; (ii) implementing the data infrastructure and data analysis project to enhance the EBA's role as a data hub for banks in the EU through the expansion of its data infrastructure and analytical capabilities; (iii) monitoring and evaluating the impact of the UK leaving the EU to protect the public interest; (iv) evaluating and contributing to the Fintech regulatory perimeter; (v) fostering proportionality in relation to policy developments; and (vi) contributing to the European Council's action plan to tackle NPLs in Europe.
 

Notes to the editors

The work programme has been developed on the basis of the tasks specified in the Authority's founding Regulation as well as of the various mandates and legislative proposals received and envisaged in the area of financial and banking regulation.
