National experts on secondment

Description

Staff employed by a member of the European System of Financial Supervision (as specified in Article 2 of Regulation (EU) no 1093/2010 of the Council and Parliament of 24 November 2010 establishing the European Banking Authority, including those countries that have reached appropriate arrangements for participation in the EBA’s work within the meaning of Article 75 of the Regulation, or by a public intergovernmental organisation (IGO) can work at the European Banking Authority in a short-term capacity through the “national experts on secondment” programme, so that EBA can use their expertise in a particular field. Candidates for secondment must speak a good level of English, the EBA’s working language. Secondment is not equivalent to employment, nor does it lead to employment by the EBA. National experts on secondment remain in the service of their employers throughout the period of secondment. For the duration of the secondment contract, the EBA may reimburse all or part of the gross remuneration to the current employer. A national expert on secondment may be entitled to a daily and monthly subsistence allowances which are paid by the EBA during the period of secondment. Eligible candidates for secondment must have worked for their employer on a permanent or contract basis for at least 12 months before their application for secondment at the EBA.

Application process

Candidates should send their applications for secondments electronically respecting the deadline for applications. They must quote the reference number of the selection procedure as well as the position they wish to apply for. For each selection procedure, a full CV in the Europass format must be attached, including reference letter issued by the applicant’ s seconding authority / institution, motivation letters and the eligibility and selection criteria grid (if required in the vacancy notice). We recommend using the Europass CV template. It is not obligatory to insert a photograph. The CV shall give the exact dates (day/month/year) of obtaining any diploma(s) and exact start and end dates (day/month/year) of any professional experience claimed. In case of part-time professional experience, the number of hours worked per week shall be indicated. Due to the large volume of applications the EBA receives, only candidates who are selected for interview will be contacted at this stage. Interviews will be held in the EBA premises in London. The Office will reimburse travel costs by air in economy class and accommodation. Interviews will be carried out in English.

Deadline for submitting applications is always until 12:00 noon London time of the date stated in the vacancy notice.
